Our Story
Ken Edwards started his career at Associated Dental Lab in Halifax in 1966 as a laboratory technician in the denture department. He later moved to Toronto to work at Shaw Dental Lab for a couple years before moving back to Nova Scotia to work at Modern dental Lab in Halifax.
Ken along with a handful of other dental technicians formed the Nova Scotia Denturist Society in 1969, and opened the first denture clinic direct to the public in Timberlea, in 1971. The Nova Scotia Denturist Society gained legislation to make dentures direct to the public in 1973. |
In June of 1972 he moved to Bridgewater and opened Edward’s Denture Clinic. Ken practiced alongside his wife, Doreen at the clinic in Bridgewater for the next 24 years until his daughter Tasha graduated in 1997 with her diploma in Denturism.
Tasha Edwards purchased the business from her dad in 2012 and they continued to work alongside each other until 2020 for a total of 23 years working together. Ken still works at the clinic part time, while taking time for himself and his wife.
Edwards Denture Clinic has a great team ready to lead them into the future.

Ken Edwards - Denturist

A passionate advocate for his profession he sat as President of the Denturist Society of Nova Scotia and has sat on the Executive for over 20 years. He has been in practice for over 50 years and has no desire to slow down now. In his down time he still enjoys hitting the road in his RV, with his wife Doreen, to participate and entertain in many Bluegrass Events throughout the Maritimes and beyond. His daughter Tasha now owns and operates Edwards Denture Clinic and Ken happily says this is the first time he has a job he can get fired from.
